On August 13th, 2020 President Trump secured the first agreement to normalize relations (create a normal relationship) between Israel and a major Arab country in decades. The agreement called “the Abraham Accord”, is a historic peace, safety and security deal.

So, what’s the big deal? Why should we as followers of Jesus care about what’s happening in the Middle East? Is this peace deal really that important?

In case you didn’t know, there have actually been 6 historic events in our lifetime that have brought us significantly closer to what every committed follower of Jesus is anticipating as the days grow darker, the return of Jesus. 

1.  The Establishment of the state in May 14^th, 1948.

2.  President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s “eternal capital” and his plan to move the American embassy (American representation in Israel) to Jerusalem on December 6, 2017. Which happened.

3.  The creation of a “Temple coin” on February 28^th, 2018 provided by the Mikdash Educational Center, which is part of the Temple institute organization in Israel that is working to rebuild the third temple.

4.  Israel celebrated its 70^th birthday in April 18, 2018.

5.   On July 19, 2018 Israel’s Parliament enacted a law declaring that the country of Israel is the “Nation State” OF Israel. Meaning, the Jewish people are declaring that Israel belongs to them and enacting laws which continue making that reality true.

6. Israel and UAE (United Arab Emirates) sign “Abraham Accords” agreement to normalize relations.
